Random Thoughts on a Friday Evening...

It's Friday evening. I am sitting her melancholy. My fall break is almost over and that's a sad thing. I know, I know... I've been off for awhile now but that has been with mom being sick and that has not been a fun experience. Mom is feeling better with the occasional cold feeling in her back sometimes accompanied by tingling in her arms. I have worried myself sick about this but her cardiologist and his nurse have assured me that they do not feel it is cardiac related because the vessel that is blocked is only a small one and it wouldn't give those kind of feelings. They said that it didn't sound like a stroke or blocked blood vessel in the neck (things other people had suggested) and she said it may very well be her blood sugar just feeling slightly different than it did before. She has had the cold feeling in her back for years with her blood sugar just not the feeling of it washing over her with tingling. The nurse told me that the fact that she had unrestricted blood flow now and actually has more blood could make her blood sugar feelings feel different. I pray (and ask that you do, too) that this is nothing major and it is related to the blood sugar. For those of you who do not know my mom, she is wonderful and I am not just saying that because she is my mom. She is the kind of mom that any child would want. She honestly is my best friend. I can't complain about my precious family because God has blessed me far too much with wonderful parents who have brought me up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. My brother isn't so bad either ;)
For those of you who know, I am still dealing with getting my wedding ring back. That has been an almost 3 month ordeal with the local Kay's store.
I have sent the same ring (my wedding ring) back 7 times now. It began with just getting it sized and has resulted in the change of color on the band, a new shank, and now the fact that the jeweler cannot seem to get the indentions on the top of the ring fixed, they have been filled in with gold from attaching the new shank. There has been a young lady, unsure of her name, with blonde hair that has been very, very helpful. However, the older lady there was extremely hateful and talked down to my mother and I because she thought I was making a fuss about nothing. When I tried to explain what the problem with the indentions was, she said that the jeweler must have not thought it was that big of a deal because it was a small detail and I replied that if it were their wedding ring it would be a big deal. She was very smart with us and I have really had to pray about not getting highly upset about all this. So anyway, it came back wrong again and I am, once again, having to send it back.
Still no positive pregnancy test. But I can see what God is doing. He could foresee that this would all come up with my mom and that I would need my emotions and thoughts at full capacity to help. I praise Him for that and the healing that has given and is continuing to give to my mom and family members even now. I know that He Will bless us with a precious child when He sees fit. I trust His timing. I still ask that you pray for my friend Kim who recently lost her child and my friend Misty who is trying to conceive also.
I will leave you with some cute pics of my little Gavy. Enjoy!!!

Saturday Morning.... Extremely Sick!

Good Morning All:

I come to you this morning from the right side of the bed that my husband Michael and I share. I have been on this side of the bed for the past 15 hours trying to sleep off the flu. I rarely get sick, but when I do, I really do!
Michael and I had been planning a trip to Biltmore Estates in NC this weekend because Sunday is our 1 year anniversary. We decided early on in the week to plan a shorter trip to Gatlinburg, TN because we are trying to cut costs and because we have to go out of town for Thanksgiving this coming week as well.

Work this week was sooo stressful for me. By Tuesday I felt as though I was going to break and by Wed. I broke. I must add that there were other stress related factors contributing to this "break" other than work, however, being there didn't help. So I came home Wed. afternoon with a migraine and I was ill all night long. Michael told me that I should just take the rest of the week off to relax and that we would go on our trip earlier than planned. So, that's what we did.
We had a nice time on our trip, however, my "cold" got worse instead of better. By the time I arrived home last night, I realized that I was walking around with the flu instead of a cold. So here I am struggling to breathe in bed this morning.
I have a few prayer requests to pass along to you, one being my family right now as they go through the loss of my cousin Gary Keyes. Gary had been sick for a long, long time and he passed away Wed. morning at about 3:30am. A couple of years ago, Preacher Bingham prayed with him and he got saved. That is the only thing that matters now that he has left this ole world. We now know where he is without a doubt and we can smile knowing that he isn't struggling to breathe anymore! God is soo good!
My second request is that of a personal one. Michael is still searching and praying for God's will in a job hunt since his layoff. The opportunity that we were almost 100% sure of fell through on Wed., so we are now back at square one. It is stressful, but God is good. We both know that God has a place for him, we just are unsure of where yet. Please keep that in your prayers and thoughts. Who knows, maybe God will use one of my faithful readers to share a job opening that they have heard of with us.
Hopefully, I will have a tribute to my husband posted by tommorrow (1 yr. anniversary) and I will have the study of Titus that I've been trying to get posted for 2 weeks up!

Keep us in your prayers and thoughts.

It's getting a little Nippy outside :D

Hi All:

Just waking up on a cold, October morning. Day number 6 of my 9 day Fall break has arrived! I will be meeting Verna, Danielle's mother, at around 12 or so for lunch at Pine Mountain Lodge so I have to make this quick. Just wanted to post and say how truly blessed that I am. I woke up this morning in my bed, under my covers, with my goofy hubby laying there next to me. He started complaining that I fell asleep before I gave him his much deserved back scratch (He made his famous rice last night after church and that was the payment haha). I sat up and scratched his back and thought about how much things had changed in the past year. This time last year I was nervous because my wedding was quickly approaching. I was still a single girl and I was spending time with Danielle, running around at Wal-Mart and in Knoxville late at night. Now, only a year later, I am going to bed much earlier (usually) and doing much, much more during the day. God has blessed me with things to occupy my time since I don't have my best friend to run around with. I now have a husband that leds me from the couch, where I have fallen asleep, and to the bed. He makes sure I am covered up and ok and then he climbs in to go to sleep. My mom always did this growing up. I have a good job, 3 (almost 4) degrees under my belt, a wonderful family including my in laws, a wonderful church and pastor who truly preaches God's word, and a bright future in the distance. Wow! All the little things that I stress about on a daily basis don't seem as huge this morning and I praise God for that. Most importantly, I have a Heavenly Father who loves me more than anyone and who patiently waits for me, even when I am taking too much time, to accomplish His perfect will. Thank You Jesus for your precious blessings on my life! If you never do another thing for me, you have done much more than I deserve already. And the thing is, I know you have more in store for me because you do love me and you do want to bless me. How Great is Our God? Great beyond words! Take a moment of your time today readers and meditate on that question.

Psalm 139:17
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
