Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I ponder to thank God this morning for His many blessings upon my life. He is beyond magnificient! I think of all the things that I have been through this past year and I am amazed at the things God has brought me and my family through. I praise Him for that! I praise Him for letting me enjoy my family for another year and for comforting my heart when no one else could. I praise Him for the blessings I know are already on their way! Most importantly, I praise Jesus for dying on an old, rugged Cross for my sins... I deserved it... He didn't! How great is our wonderful, mercifiul Savior?!

Happy 2 Years Michael!

Just wishing a happy anniversary to myself and my husband. 2 years seems like no time, yet it sorta seems like forever... strange huh? Anyway, I am a few days late with this but I promise we did celebrate our anniversary. We actually went to Pigeon Forge, Tn for a quick preholiday trip this past Sat. night into Sun. evening. We shopped at Tanger Outlets (I love!) and we visited Wonder Works (Awesome!) We have a really good time despite the fact that I was really sick (again this year... 2 years in a row I have been sick on our anniversary trip!) Anyway, I forgot my digital camera on this trip so I picked up a throw away camera and as soon as I finish with it, I will post those pics.

PSALMS CHAPTER 139... Read This Often As A Reminder

We studied this chapter last night at church as a part of our study on God's omnipotence. Here are some of the thoughts Preacher Bingham shared, along with some of my own personal thoughts. We should really read this chapter often. How beautiful it reads and how true it is!

PSALMS CHAPTER 139

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

GOD KNOWS THE PARTS OF US THAT WE, OURSELVES DON'T KNOW!

2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

HE KNOWS WHEN WE ARE IN A LOW MOOD OR A GOOD MOOD. HE UNDERSTANDS OUR FEELINGS.

3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

WITH ALL .... NOTICE THAT. GOOD OR BAD. HE LOVES US IN SPITE OF WHAT WE ARE.

4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

GOD HAS NEVER HAD TO LEARN HIS KNOWLEDGE... HE HAS ALWAYS HAD IT. WE CAN'T EVEN ATTAIN ALL OF HIS KNOWLEDGE.

7 ¶ Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

AS LOW AS WE GO OR AS HIGH AS WE FLY... GOD NEVER DESERTS US.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

HE KNEW US!

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

MY MOST FAVORITE VERSE! WE ARE FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE!

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
GOD YOU HAD ALL MY MEMBERS... EVER FINGER, EVERY TOE, EVERY LIMB WRITTEN DOWN BEFORE I WAS EVEN THOUGHT OF.

17 ¶ How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

HE HAS BLESSED US..... AND HE HONESTLY THINKS OF US SO OFTEN THAT WE COULDN'T KEEP COUNT. LITTLE SMILES THAT COME TO OUR FACE OR LITTLE GOOD THINGS THAT HAPPEN THROUGHOUT OUR DAY.... THAT'S GOD BLESSING US. HOW MUCH TIME DO WE SPEND THINKING OF HIM? MORE THAN THE GRAINS OF SAND AS HE DOES WITH US?

19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

SEARCH ME GOD, SHOW ME MY FAILURES FOR I KNOW THERE ARE MANY AND HELP ME TO ACKNOWLEDGE WHAT YOU HAVE SHOWN ME AND TAKE ACTION TO CORRECT IT INSTEAD OF JUST IGNORING IT. BLESS THE LORD!

Revelation 14 13-20 ... Pondering on Beautifully Scripted Verses

These are a few verses that always stand out in my mind when I read Revelation. They are so beautiful phrased and written.

13
¶ And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

(This is great to know isn't it? All of our prayers that we pray here on earth will even be answered as we are living a new life in Heaven! How awesome is our God to remember and grant our answers even when the world thinks that because we have died, it is too late!)

14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe.
16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.
19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

(Can you not just see the visual image of these verses? Beautifully written and so thoroughly inspired by God!)

Dinosaurs & Dragons

This weekend, our church had the privilege of having Dr. Gardener back to speak in our all day Creation Conference. If you are a local, be watching for the televised portions of this event on the local channel that you watch Binghamtown on weekly. It truly was awesome. The evening presentation was about Dinosaurs and Dragons and I was so excited for it. You can click the TAG... CREATION at the bottom of this post to see Dr. Gardener's presentation from last year and to see the pictures from the Creation Museum in Northern, Ky. Here's some of my notes:

4 Main Ideas About Dinosaurs

1. They started out small.... they looked like the toy ones that we have today when they were born. (Even though we are conditioned to think that they were huge because of today's Hollywood movies.)
2. The average size of a dinosaur was the same size as a sheep! (Jurassic Park didn't show you that did it?)
3. They really did exist and we know because we have found fossils, bones, and tracks from them.
4. Some really were large and scary... however there weren't tons of them roaming around. There has only been 20 T-Rex whole skeletons found.

INTERESTING FACT:
Scientists think that the world is millions of years old. They think that dinosaurs were around 65 million years ago. A paleontologist (lady) in NC broke open a dinosaur bone and found soft tissue. This wouldn't be possible if they were 65 million years old. Soft tissue cannot exist for that length of time. This is another piece of evidence that proves that our world is NOT millions of years old like the evolution scientists would like us to believe!

Evolution Blown Away!
Richard Dawkins, a major evolutionist stated... Richard Dawkins, Oxford "...there are certain things about the fossil record that any evolutionist should expect to be true. We should be very surprised, for example, to find fossil humans appearing in the record before mammals are supposed to have evolved! If a single, well verified mammal skull were to turn up in 500 million year old rocks, our whole modern theory of evolution would be utterly destroyed. Incidentally, this is a sufficient answer to the canard, put about by creationist and their journalistic fellow travelers, that the whole theory of evolution is an 'unfalsifiable' tautology. Ironically, it is also the reason why creationist are so keen on the fake human footprints, which were carved during the depression to fool tourist, in the dinosaur beds of Texas," (The Blind Watchmaker, 1986, p.225)

Since we have found human and dinosaur prints together, this blows evolution out of the water!

ANOTHER INTERESTING FACT:

Scientists today (evolution scientists) tell us that there are carnivores and herbivores which is true in a sense. However, just because an animal CAN BE a carnivore that doesn't mean that it exists totally on meat. There are animals considered to be carnivores that do not eat meat. The T-Rex was considered to be a big meat eater because of his teeth, however, it has now been discovered and even agreed on by the scientist who helped with Jurassic Park, that the T-Rex's teeth are too shallow to eat tough hide. That's not to say that he never ate meat, but it is to say that he did eat other things. God permitted no death until the fall of Adam and Eve in which animals and people begin to die and to kill each other. Animals COULD eat meat after this but before this happening, all living creatures DID NOT eat meat because there was NO DEATH!
An example Dr. Gardner gave is that of a camel skull. He showed it to us and said that when they send it to the folks who try to reconstruct it , it comes back looking like a mean animal with large, scary teeth when in fact it is the skull of a camel. Hence, Big Teeth do not mean carnivore.

5 Questions:

1. Where did they come from and when?
Life doesn't come from nonliving materials instead it comes from Creative Design. Some may ask, "How do dinosaurs fit into the Bible?" THEY DON'T HAVE TO FIT, THEY ARE ALREADY IN THERE!

Genesis 1:24-25

24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

You may ask, "Why do you think that is talking about dinosaurs? It doesn't say dinosaur." The term Dinosaur wasn't invented until 1841. The Bible refers to them in different ways hence the above "Beast of the earth" and also as dragons and Behemoth.
Job 40:15-24

15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

19He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

20Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

21He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

22The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

23Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

24He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

This seems to be refering to a brachiosaurus type (long neck) of dinosaur.

2. When did they die?
The dinosaurs died out with the flood.... BUT.... (continue in the next question)
3. How did they die?
There were 2 of each kind of animal including dinosaurs taken on Noah's Ark. Questions you may ask:
How did they fit?
****The ark was huge 430 ft long and 43 ft wide with three decks and made of gopher wood. It could hold up to 125,000 sheep sized animals.
****2 of each kind of animal was taken on the ark, not two of each variation.
****Noah brought the young animals not the grown ones.
The flood was a worldwide global even though many folks teach that it was regional. This is why our oil, natural gases, and coal are formed even here in Eastern Ky because of the flood. The flood can be found in Genesis 6 and 7.
Other scientists believe that volcanoes erupted and it starved out the dinosaurs or that they ate the wrong plant and it bloated them and they died of indigestion (no joke!), or that a comet hit and killed them. We have evidence that the dinosaurs died in a global flood including billions of dead things that are buried in sedimentary rock layers laid down by fast moving water all over the earth... FOSSILS!
4. Why did they die?
Evolution teaches that death occurred before man, which couldn't be true because the Bible says that death began when sin began. Romans 5:12... Death is an enemy. They died because all died in the global flood except for those on the ark. It was because of SIN.
5. What happened to the dinosaurs that got off the ark?
After the flood, God gave man permission to kill and eat animals. Before the flood, there was killing but no eating by humans. Hunters, even today, hunt BIG ANIMALS so that is the most likely answer to this question. Humans hunted them and ate them. They also may have hunted them because they were a threat to them and any animal that is a huge threat to life would be an animal that humans would kill. Dinosaurs were even mentioned up until the 1800's in various written texts (Epic of Gilgamesh) and in various cultures (Chinese)... there are more than these. The Chinese Zodiac placed all animals on it including dragons (dinosaurs). Why would they place all REAL animals and one mythological? The book of Job talks about a fire breathing dragon.

Job 41:1-8

1Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?

2Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?

3Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?

4Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?

5Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?

6Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?

7Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?

8Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.

When you search leviathan even through a secular Internet search you find the following: (keep in mind the following is just to help with this term, it is from a secular site)

Leviathan

(West Asian mythology)

Literally, ‘coiled’. The sea serpent of Hebrew myth, a restatement of the chaos-dragon Tiamat, is the same as the Ras Shamra Lotan, the seven-headed monster slain by Anat. The apocryphal Book of Enoch speaks of a companion beast. ‘And in that day will two monsters be separated a female named Leviathan to dwell in the abyss over the fountains of waters. But the male is called Behemoth which occupies with his breasts an immeasurable desert named Dendain.’ The Talmud, a compendium of the teachings of later Rabbis, states that the fins of Leviathan radiate such brilliant light as to obscure the rays of the sun. Though the plaything of Yahweh, in the last days of the world the sea serpent will repulse attacks from angels, till Behemoth kills it. According to Islamic tradition, Allah used Behemoth not as a destroyer of dragons but a firm foundation for the world, a mighty back overarching the water and the darkness below the earth.

A vivid description of Leviathan occurs in the Book of Job. To underscore man's weakness and ignorance compared with divine greatness, Yahweh asked:‘Canst thou draw out Leviathan with an hook? … None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? … He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood…. He maketh the deep to boil like a pot.’ It is not surprising that in medieval Christianity Leviathan, ‘king over all the children of pride’, was identified with hell, whose entrance iconography depicted as a gigantic maw.

We can see that God does make fire breathing creatures such as the Bombardier Beetle that can shoot fire out of its behind (cute, huh?) It is a defensive mechanism that lets it shoot out 212 degree fire. There is also a Hadrosaurus Dinosaur that has the same chambers that the beetle has... could it have been the fire breathing dragon that so many ancient cultures speak of? we see drawings even in the Carlisle Cathedral in Northern England at the Tomb of Bishop Richard Bell who died in 1496. There is a brass plate covering his tomb that has animals that appear to be dinosaurs engraved on it. Funny that people would just make them up? Seems as though they lived alongside them!

God also makes other animals who prove to us that HE DESIGNED THEM.... such as the girafee.... if it didn't have special sensors to aid in the lower and lifting of its long neck it would die....when it lowered it would have a stroke from all the blood rushing to its head and when it lifted it would pass out from the blood rushing from its head.

Happy Birthday Danielle... 11-1-07

Just a few days late..... I want to wish my dear friend a happy birthday. I am sure that it is a happy birthday since its the second one that she has shared in Heaven with Jesus. On the evening of the 1st, we met at Danielle's memorial and talked and laughed while we remembered her. Afterwards, Chub and I went to Gran's to have a cup of coffee with her, her sister, Hannah, Hannah's friend, and Verna. It was so nice to remember my dear friend. So, Happy Birthday Miss Danielle. I love and miss you so much!
